Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect almost nothing, and we sell none of it.
What we collect
One thing. There is no sign-up field anywhere on this site and no mailing list behind one, so we hold no email addresses and there is no customer record at all. Until September 2026 a sign-up box stood at the foot of these pages; it was never wired to a sender, so it sent nothing and stored nothing, and it has been taken out rather than left to imply a list that did not exist. What is left is what nearly every website runs: analytics. We look at it to learn which audits people find useful. The itemised entry follows.
Analytics, itemised
Two lines on this ledger. The first is Cloudflare Web Analytics, from the network that serves the site: it uses no cookies and keeps only totals such as page views, countries and referring sites.
The second is Google Analytics 4, run by Google LLC (Google Ireland Ltd. for visitors in Europe). Per visit it logs the pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location to city and country, device and browser type, and session timing. IP addresses are neither logged nor stored by GA4. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off; the figures are not used for advertising and are not sold. GA4 tells browsers apart only by a random number, so it is not tied to a profile of you, and we could not match a visit to you even if asked.
Readers whose device time zone is in Europe (EEA, UK, Switzerland) see a banner first, and nothing goes to Google until they accept. Elsewhere, measurement is on by default and can be turned off at any time. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as opting out. Your choice sits in local storage under analytics-consent, not in a cookie, and the cookie settings link reopens the banner.

What we do not do
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We do not run third-party advertising networks. We do not buy data about you from elsewhere to enrich the little we hold. The business model is simpler and printed on the receipt: some outbound links pay a referral commission — itemized in our affiliate disclosure — and none of that involves handing anyone your information.
Cookies
We use two cookies of our own, both from Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_<ID>. They are written only once analytics is allowed, can last up to two years, and are deleted if you decline later. Cloudflare's counter adds none. When you follow a referral link to a platform, that platform may set its own cookies under its own policy — from that click onward you are in their ledger, not ours.
We send no email. There is no subscription to start, no send list to be on and nothing to unsubscribe from.
Data requests
Want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted? Email [email protected]. The honest preview: we keep no mailing list and no reader records, so for almost every reader the answer is nothing at all.

If this policy changes materially, the change is noted on this page. Last reviewed: October 9, 2026, when Google Analytics was added.
